What is ITINELEX™?
Consistent with being innovators in the legal profession, Buchanan Law has developed a pioneering approach to the provision of high value legal services to clients in-house for a fixed price. BL is now able to place an experienced lawyer for a fixed amount of time per week (or other time periods by arrangement) on secondment with your organisation.
Whether your organisation is a small to medium sized enterprise (SME) or a larger enterprise, ITINELEX™ General Counsel services have many potential benefits. To take a typical example, for SMEs needing legal services, but unable to justify the cost of a full time in-house lawyer, access to a dedicated and focused legal service provider for one day per week would often be sufficient (larger enterprises, by contrast, might want short-term locum cover or to bring in somebody for a special project).
One of our lawyers, working as your General Counsel, will be responsible for handling all of your legal requirements including:
- Contract drafting and negotiation.
- In-house compliance training.
- Managing legal resources.
The lawyer will work at your offices as a member of your team during that time, and will also be available to you by e-mail and telephone at other times.
Our lawyers can independently handle many of your legal requirements and, if not, you can be assured that they will always have back-up through the support of our team here or through management of your existing panel of legal service providers. If briefing out is required (for example, for major transactions or litigation) then your General Counsel will find the most suitable lawyer for the job, obtain your approval to brief the matter on your behalf to the selected lawyer, and then continue to manage the matter for you.
We can provide these General Counsel services for a fixed amount per month (agreed in advance as our professional fees) plus, where relevant, payment of disbursements and other expenses incurred in relation to the services. If the fixed amount proves to be too low or too high for the amount for work undertaken as the assignment progresses, then we will discuss and agree suitable changes for future periods. Either party may terminate the arrangement at any time.
